MARCH 30, 2011 - People ask all the time why we chose the name THE SHAKERS, and often advise: "It will be very hard to trademark that name." Understandable. But The Shakers is who we are, so we fought to trademark it since Jodie and Chris met in 2009. Our hard work paid off, and the name is officially ours today. We're proud to be trademarked. We'll never change the name.

DEC 28 - The Shakers finish 2010 with packed shows at The TLA and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia for WMMR's Gobblaroo Festival and their Mistletoe Jam. Chris, Jodie, Brad, and Nick had their work cut out for them though, when the Tri-State area got hit with a huge blizzard. Putting on "trooper pants" and plastic bags around their shoes, they shoveled snow together and pushed their rental car like their own best roadies. The real feat was making it back to Los Angeles in one piece. Using a "divide and conquer" technique, The Shakers split up and tackled Laguardia and JFK ; muscling and caffeineating their way back home. Check out this video, to get a taste of their Holiday.
SEPTEMBER 27 - The Shakers enjoy a high energy bash at Moondoggies in San Diego, but ended the night in the emergency room. The pins on Jodie's beloved REMO tambourine wedge loose, and upon impact to her left hand, tear an inch long gap just below her middle finger. After four stitches and a tetanus shot Brad the Rad drives Jodie back to Los Angeles while she recruits friends to lend percussion in their upcoming Viper Room show with Fat City Reprise. The boohooing is shortlived - 3 days later, Jaxon from WMMR radio calls Chris Lee and invites The Shakers to join the roster of acts for their annual Gobblaroo Festival at Philadelphia's TLA.
AUGUST 26 - The Shakers open the Sunset Strip Music Festival with Purple Melon at The Viper Room . Rave reviews by picksysticks.com and allknowingforce.com solidify The Shakers' reputation for high energy performances and musical precision. Within a week, The Shakers are booked as the halftime act for the LA Derby Dolls and the San Diego Derby Dolls.
MAY 15 - The Shakers partner with director Jason Dodson to make a music video for "Villain." The idea was ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE - which required volunteers with a wide range of skills. Not only was the shoot lit, make-up'd, and filmed by incredible artists volunteering their time, but friends and fans of the Shakers came out to portray THE ZOMBIES. The hours were grueling, but everyone had a blast, and ate Chris Lee's chicken dinners until the job was done and awesome.
