"Their debut album Oh So Loud sounds like an epic but angry summer. Its soulful vibes share space with some great and often heavy guitars."

SOMOJO

THE ROXY THEATRE

"One of the shining jewels in the tiara of L.A.’s great music scene—The Shakers will take the stage and take no prisoners... ..think Motown vocal sensibilities, meets high energy classic rock; a pairing that has been drawing huge crowds, and plenty of word of mouth praise on The Sunset Strip, and beyond." .

"Jodie sees herself in it as a “shaker,” and a “breaker,” and after couple songs into the album, it’s pretty clear she isn’t kidding. ...The riffs are deadly, and that is expected for The Shakers’ fans, but if you are new to the band, welcome to our church."

MUSIC IN PRESS

THE SPECTRUM

“…She coos seductively like Gwen Stefani at one moment and wails like Robert Plant the next, all while Lee’s guitar dances and duets with her. Underneath is the rhythmic rumble of the Barker/Woods machine, often barreling forward like a bullet train.”

VIPER ROOM BLOG

"Youre going to see a band of musicians who are really locked in with each other, who really love each other and any spectacle is an organic result of the music we love playing together" - Jodie

BADASSBANDSBLOG

This next band is like a super juicy piece of gossip that you know you probably shouldnt share but you cant help it. ....They are too badass NOT to talk about. They are an LA/Philly based band called The Shakers. Their name is not only cute or clever, it literally describes what you will do when you hear their music. People literally leave their shows saying their catch phrase, I love The Shakers!.

"Then I heard her. The moment Jodie began to sing I had a Waynes World moment. I thought of the scene in the movie where Wayne Campbell sees his future girlfriend Cassandra performing for the first time ..."

THE SPECTRUM

"LA based, The Shakers self-identify as a cross between AC/DC and the Supremes. Close. We'd call em Blondie meets The Chambers Brothers. "

SUGAR BUZZ

*PARENTAL ADVISORY: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE!*
"Jodie, you sent me an email, you plug the s*** out of your band, you got my attention, and now I bet you regret every minute of it." "Tony, you told me this was a parents, pizza and pop party..." "...Nope, we're only serving roofies tonight."

PICKSYSTICKS

"...kicking ass on stage like a runaway train tearing through back country blues, a burning fireball of sultry rock..."

"The Shakers, easily the hardest working band in L.A., have a new EP out and a new video. I love this band. I love the people in this band and I love seeing a band who can kick your ass night after night after night."

"...beyond the range of mere mortals, Jodie let’s her hypnotic voice roll up and down the scale as devil horned angels frolic in the divine sound....The Shakers leave you rattled to the core of your partied hard soul."

"We called The Shakers gregarious lead singer Jodie and got her to talk about her pink hair, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, her musical influences and The Shakers upcoming show at WMMR's Gobblaroo on Wednesday, November 24 at the TLA."

"I watched them play for no more than 15 minutes, and I was immediately impressed and bought their CD....Lead guitarist Chris Lee ...reminded me of Tom Morello..."

"When curtains rose for Schell and The Shakers this night, the rainbow girl was gone....All grown-up now, the raggedy rainbow was now stream line and rock star slick.
